what are the hardest tech support questions and how might you answer them ?
i realize this has great potential to be a very long thread. i'm mainly concerned with non-server operational questions and non-cpanel/whm questions.

The hardest non-server wise is when customers think that a web host is the same thing as a web designer.
I had a customer that signed up with us and expected us to set up his site, maintain it, and constantly update it (was an online store). When I told him that we are not designers/programmers he left and caused us to loose $20 or so.
If we knew all the hard ones wouldn't we have formulated an answer?
i suppose i am coming from an newbie to linux based hosting tech support point of view..
As long as you have good linux knowledge handling tech support wont be hard, most questions are all simple ones.
If your not familiar with linux then there are several companies out there that provide 3rd party support priced per ticket.
well if coming from a noob point of view "do you support php" :P i dunno never really had hard questions
There is no hard questions for support persons. That's why we call them when we want support.
Hardest question... "why is my site down"
Of course that's an email coming from an unknown email address regarding a site that they don't bother to mention. So all you can do is email back and ask which site is theirs lol.
The most difficult I think are issues dealing with email. There are just so many unknown outside influences on email that troubleshooting those issues can be a real nightmare. Especially when you know it's not a server issue.
I think the hardest question is when a customer asks you why his script is not working due to parsing errors. :)
whats the answer to that one ? :)
humor :)
