in vi you hit escape to get out of input mode, then hit :w to write(save) and :q to quit.
If you aren't in vi then please give us more info
Thanks
I'm at [MySQL] in php
and I want to add
extension=mysql.so
Can you tell me step by step how to do this?
I know this is basic for you, but I would really appreciate it
thanks, again
Thanks that was great!
I really appreciate your help,
but, in life you get one challenge after another
the software I am trying to install came up with this:
"cant connect to local mysql through socket
'/tmp/mysql.sock'
How do I create a symlink /tmp/mysql.sock to /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock using
ln -s /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock /tmp/mysql.sock
Please help
thanks
Where do I do this? (php, mysql or at root)
What is the syntax?
You can tell that I'm not really good at this and if I can create this symlink my software will work
thanks
O.K. when I enter
root> ln -s /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock /tmp/mysql.sock
I get back
in: /tmp/mysql.sock: File exists
I know it exists, what I'm trying to do is make a symlink
Please help, what is the right syntax?
Thanks
Reverse the two paths, I think, on the symlink.
To insert text in vi you hit i, escape then stops inserting text.
Solved!
what I did was add the -f (force) after -s
Thank you CmptrWz you really helped out alot (with the PHP), I really appreciate it!
