Were you talking about ram or space-bandwidth etc? Some hosts use 1024 for ram and just 1000 for bandwidth. The response seemed like a joke to me but I could be wrong :(
No, I meant "I've never been good at math"
I agree with techjr, I read the response as a friendly joke, which it probably was..
Some of RackSpace's techs never fail to suprise me. Most of the level 1 sales/support are just college students who seem to just google for the answer. I talk from experience ;)
I can't believe that a sales person is not good at math. You should ask for a quotation, maybe the person give you a real cheap servers :p
funny stuff :)
Funny answer the sales man gave you, I think that he was just saying that as a joke, But after he replayed with that he didn't reply saying nothing else? It was also a bit of a dumb question so I don't see why the sales came out with a funny answer.
i dont think its something which should be taken with a serious note, as it seem to be just a light joke..
Technically it is 1024, I think such answer is not expected from Rackspace.
Support person should ask their colleague regarding this.
usually, for storage and ram, 1024MB = 1GB. but for bandwidth, they usually do 1000MB = 1GB
