Hello Fellow WHTers!

Reputation matters

Dennis Johnson (aka SoftWareRevue)

I'm still recovering from some quick Time-Zone-Jumping. I'm not complaining, it was a very productive trip. We went to the west coast to visit with some of the moderators and members of iNET's newest community. They happened to be together at an event the same week the acquisition went live. We wanted to get some first-hand feedback on any concerns they had in joining the iNET family of communities.

You can tell from the feedback thread here that iNET (as well as WHT) are known as reputable resources. ABestWeb welcomed us with open arms and we reciprocated. Such things go so much easier when your reputation precedes you.

The building of a web host's reputation is discussed in our first featured thread below. You don't have to be a web host to appreciate the feedback from the community on building one's reputation.

This newsletter's a little short. And not devoted exclusively to WHT. But it is an intro into reputation, and I wanted to take a little iNET time to welcome ABestWeb.

Thanks for listening. And I'll see you on the forums. Catch me on Twitter @WebHostingTalk.

Dennis Johnson (aka SoftWareRevue)
iNET Community Coordinator

Title element

The title element, sometimes referred to as the title tag, is the text that appears as anchor text for page links in search results. It's the default page name when users bookmark a page, and it appears when using the Back and Forward button, when a page is printed, in window title bars, and when users hover over tabs in tabbed browsers. The title element does not appear on the page itself, so it's often overlooked.

In the page source code, the title element appears in the section of the document, between and . It's a mandatory element.
