Hello fellow WHTers!

Making Progess.

Dennis Johnson (aka SoftWareRevue)

I've heard sleep is overrated, and I hope they're right. Because some of us behind the scenes at iNET and WHT have been running on little sleep since the attack against WebHostingTalk.com on March 21. For more information, please see this thread.

In the last WHT Insider I told you the story of Lovey Dovey. I'm happy to report that she is eating well, growing feathers and itchin' to be flying. She's still in recovery mode, but it looks like she'll make it back to normalcy.

WHT is on the road to normalcy as well. We're still vigorously pursuing data recovery, and we're making progress.

The overwhelming support by WHT members is testament of this forum's commitment to community. I'd like to share a small sampling quotes by forum members.

"I hope you recover all your data. Please let me know what I can do to help. WHT is a great community!"

"I sincerely appreciate your determined effort to bring things back to normal. I wish you all greater success in the future."

"I just want to give you guys my best wishes, hopefully everything can be restored to the most recent possible point. Good luck guys! WHT is great."

"WHT is my fave forum!!!"

All the supportive comments are great and highly appreciated. But I'd like to point out the next quote.

"Because of your email, I'm going to take a serious look at our own disaster recovery plan because we seldom do off network backups. I think this would be a good topic on WHT in the future so that other web hosting providers could learn from others."

I think that pretty much sums it up from my point of view. Yes, this was an unfortunate event. But so many of us have learned from it. And we'll all be stronger.

Remember to follow us on Twitter @WebHostingTalk for important updates, informative threads, or simple occasional comfortable chatter. Varied methods of communication can be the corner stone of your success.

The first featured thread outlines reasons hosts should consider having a customer forum.

I'll see you on the (still standing) forums!

HTML

HTML is the most popular declarative language that specifies the structure and content of a web page. HTML is an abbreviation for Hyper Text Markup Language. Tim Berners-Lee first described his ideas for a richer Web using HTML tags in 1991.

When you download a web page from the Internet using a web browser, the layout engine built into the browser reads the HTML mark-up of the web page and uses the declarations to determine how the document (the web page) is structured.
