Web Hosting Provider, Qwest, Enters Data Center Multimillion-Dollar Agreement

Scottsdale, Arizona – (The Hosting News) – October 25, 2007 – High-speed Internet, data, video and voice services firm, Qwest Communications International Inc., has signed a new multimillion dollar agreement, with i/o Data Centers, to create a faster, more secure data storage facility.

By working together, Qwest and i/o Data Centers are able to meet the network and data center needs of some of the largest corporations and Web properties in the world. nQwest engineered a custom telecommunications solution for i/o Data Centers’s Scottsdale ONE data center facility, which includes working within the company’s stringent design specifications. i/o Data Centers chose Qwest because it provides an exceptionally robust solution for large bandwidth needs.

Qwest has turned the Scottsdale ONE data center into a TeraPoP and Layer 3 site where customers can connect directly to the Internet. This means the center will be able to provide customers with Internet speeds from 1 Gigibit per second (Gbps) to 10 Gbps. i/o Data Centers is utilizing a GigE port from the Qwest 40 Gbps backbone, which is accessible from that location today. Additionally, Qwest and i/o Data Centers have designed this Scottsdale data center site for future scalability of 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps interfaces.
