Web Hosting Firm, Uplinkearth, Offers Comodo SSL, EV SSL Certificates
Somerset, New Jersey – (The Hosting News) – October 1, 2007 – Web hosting and Internet solutions provider for small to medium sized businesses, Uplinkearth, has partnered with Comodo, to provide SSL certificates, in addition to newly released EV SSL certificates.
The certificates, which are available to all Uplinkearth customers at discounted rates, allow Web visitors to verify the authenticity of the sites they visit. The use of SSL Certificates helps prevent the occurrence of phishing, where users are lured into unknowingly providing sensitive information to fraudulent parties.
Michael Yablonowitz, President and CEO of Uplinkearth remarked, ”In today’s security environment on the web, certificates have become absolutely imperative to thwart the rise of fraudulent transactions. We hope our relationship with Comodo will ultimately make it easier and more affordable for our customers to take advantage of the many benefits of SSL certificates.”
Uplinkearth customers may purchase Comodo’s recently released Extended Validation certificates (EV SSL) at special prices reflecting savings from the $849 retail price. EV SSL certificates provide a $1,000,000 warranty for site owners and introduce visual verification in the Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 address bar.
Melih Abdulhayoglu, CEO and Chief Security Architect of Comodo offered, ”EV SSL certificates are an important development in ensuring a safe and secure Internet for consumers. For the first time, site visitors get a visual indicator confirming that the site has been authenticated and this level of reassurance will enable more consumers to be more confident in their online transactions.”
All SSL Certificates purchased through Uplinkearth include installation at no additional charge. Certificates may be used with any Uplinkearth hosting plan.
In August, Uplinkearth entered into an affiliate partner program with .NET components firm, ComponentOne, to add value for current customers, as well as increase exposure and reputation for both uplinkearth and ComponentOne.
