Web Host PEER 1 Expands EMC Platform
September 25, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Canadian Web hosting and colocation provider PEER 1 (peer1.net) announced on Tuesday it has deployed EMC storage area network platforms across all of its managed dedicated hosting data center operations in Atlanta, Georgia, Miami, Florida and Fremont, California.
The EMC platform provides state-of-the-art technology to optimize PEER 1's data backup solution, providing managed dedicated hosting customers with faster and more reliable backup and data recovery, says the company. The EMC storage solution also enables PEER 1 to offer highly available mass storage options to customers over 4GB fiber channel connections providing additional scaling options to PEER 1 customers that have traditionally been limited to local server storage.
"We continuously look to provide our customers with best-of-breed IT infrastructure services," says Ted Smith, VP of operations for PEER 1. "We've rolled out a successful deployment of the EMC platform to all of our dedicated hosting operations and are pleased to bring the improved speed and reliability to our customers. We feel our solution is second to none in the managed dedicated hosting space."
PEER 1 recently signed an agreement with IT security solution provider Juniper.
