Verizon Opens Frankfurt Smart Center

October 11, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Telecommunications provider Verizon Business (verizonbusiness.com) announced on Thursday it has officially opened a new Smart Center in Frankfurt, Germany to support customers with complex computing requirements in continental Europe.

The facility broadens the reach of the high-end managed services and managed hosting capabilities already available to Verizon Business' global customers. The Frankfurt Smart Center provides businesses with full management of their mission-critical business applications, Web services, facilities, underlying IT infrastructure and IT services to Verizon Business.

Verizon Business says that it helps multinational companies focus on their own business objectives by providing them with a comprehensive managed services portfolio, enabling them to improve their overall network and application performance while having better control of their costs.

"The Frankfurt Smart Center is the latest addition to our growing number of advanced facilities across our global IP network, which aim to meet, and exceed, the heightened requirements of our customers," says Donald Badoux, head of specialized services at Europe for Verizon Business. "This facility complements the capabilities offered by our existing Smart Centers around the world and, in particular, gives us the ability to provide distributed computing capability across the continental European market."

Verizon Business announced last week it passed the SAS 70 Type II examination for its Remote Application Management Operations Centers.
