Verizon Completes Acquisition
July 9, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Managed services provider Verizon Business (verizonbusiness.com) announced on Monday it has completed its previously announced acquisition of IT security services provider Cybertrust (cybertrust.com), providing the company with a combined security services staff of more than 1,100 professionals deployed throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region.
Customers of Verizon Business and the former Cybertrust are benefiting immediately from the combination of the companies' assets, products, professional services and people into an enhanced Verizon Business Security Solutions practice. Each company's customers can now access an integrated portfolio of security offerings, combined under the "Verizon Business Security Solutions powered by Cybertrust" brand.
"With our newly expanded world-class security capabilities, Verizon Business is enabling customers to better secure their businesses," says Nancy Gofus, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Business. "We are uniquely positioned to help as an organization moves into the era of the extended enterprise where data must be stored and secured from location to location, from partner to supplier, from the private network to the public Internet, from the desktop to the cell phone, and everywhere in-between."
The newly enhanced Verizon Business security solutions suite delivers end-to-end, multilayered security protection from the customer's premises to the Verizon Business global IP network. It includes professional services comprised of governance, risk and compliance analysis, application assessments, forensics and incident response services, a full suite of premise and network-based managed security services, identity and access management, threat and vulnerability management, partner security programs and security certification programs.
Verizon Business also acquired Cybertrust's ICSA Labs, which will remain an independent division of the company. Verizon first announced last month that it would acquire the privately held Cybertrust.
