San Francisco, California – (The Hosting News) – August 10, 2007 –
Web hosting and managed services firm, Verio, recently supported the open source and Linux communities with its Linux Test Drive program. Designed with businesses and developers in mind, all LinuxWorld show attendees were invited to register for a free Verio Linux Virtual Private Server (VPS) trial account.
The free offering was designed to allow for new clients to observe first-hand, how they could leverage the VPS for an e-commerce solution, a custom development environment, a corporate intranet, an email management system or a hosted blog or podcast. Trial account users could also benefit from the VPS’s vinstall tool and software library for fast deployment of multiple preconfigured applications: Apache 2.2.3 comes installed on Linux VPS for faster performance, PHP 5.1.5 provides support for popular technologies such as XML, SOAP and MySQL and others, support for object oriented programming is also provided.
Verio’s Linux hosting offerings were showcased at LinuxWorld, where attendees received information on how to sign up for free Linux VPS web hosting accounts, as well as observe live demos of the Verio Linux VPS.
