Verio Now Advanced Red Hat Partner

August 7, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Managed hosting provider Verio (verio.com) announced on Tuesday it is now an Advanced Partner in the Red Hat Hosting Program (redhat.com), enabling Verio to offer competitive products and pricing to customers for its Linux-based Web hosting solutions, including the virtual private server and the managed private server.

The Red Hat Hosting Program is designed to meet the specific needs of Web hosts with partner resources to help them succeed in the open source and Linux markets. Verio's Linux business has grown significantly since the company launched its VPS with Red Hat Enterprise Linux this past February, as well as launching its MPS with Red Hat Enterprise Linux offering shortly thereafter.

As a member of the Red Hat hosting program, Verio has proven expertise in Red Hat technology deployments and solutions. Additionally, the company now has capabilities in delivering Red Hat-based hosting solutions and provides validation that Verio meets Red Hat's standards for partners.

"Red Hat Enterprise Linux has become an integral part of Verio's business in a very short period of time, and has enabled us to deliver the types of Linux-based functional hosting solutions globally that our customers increasingly require to successfully operate and grow their businesses," says Dennis Boyle, chief operating officer for Verio. "The Red Hat Partner Program positions us very well to deliver customers our hosting services, running on Red Hat, in a very powerful, yet cost-effective, solution."

Verio announced last month it is offering new eStorefront e-commerce Web hosting packages to help small and midsize businesses get their online stores up and running quickly with ShopSite shopping cart.
