The Planet Reports Results, RAM Deal
April 25, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Dedicated Web hosting provider The Planet (theplanet.com) reported the results of its first quarter, ended March 30, on Tuesday.
The report offered the first financial quarter numbers since the company's January re-launch under its new corporate moniker, says The Planet.
"The Planet posted another record revenue quarter, continuing its inception-to-date string of sequential record quarters," says Kevin Klausmeyer, CFO of The Planet. "Gross margins also reached a new record level as a result of synergies, increased purchasing power and the leverage within the operating model. Based on our performance, we expect to grow approximately 20 percent this year, roughly one-third faster than the overall market."
Some of the highlights in The Planet's first quarter include a new Web site, new products like Cisco ASA 5500 Series firewalls, a network upgrade, the addition of more than 1,600 new customers, executive appointments and data center expansions in its Houston and Dallas, Texas facilities.
On Wednesday, The Planet launched a 50 percent discount on RAM upgrades for all new server orders. Customers can save half the cost of RAM ranging from 2GB to 24GB for The Planet's range of servers.
Last week, the company offered free setup for new orders on the Dell PowerEdge 1950 Woodcrest 5130 Insomnia365 gaming server.
