TechPad Brings Game to HostingCon

July 25, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting advertising and marketing provider TechPad Agency (techpadagency.com) exhibited this week at HostingCon 2007 (hostingcon.com/2007) with a unique, hosting-themed board in-hand.

The game, entitled Server Mania!, is the brainchild of TechPad Agency chief marketing officer Derek Vaughan. The game mimics the day-to-day challenges of a Web hosting company owner, covering such familiar territory as acquiring more servers, achieving quality customer service and reducing churn rate. In the end, the player that collects the most servers -- and in turn, the most revenue -- wins the game.

"We always like to do something fun," says Ben Fisher, co-founder and VP of TechPad Agency. "This year, we said to ourselves 'Web hosting it's kind of a boring industry. Everybody knows that. Well, let's make it a little bit more fun.'"

Fisher says the game has drawn an overwhelming response from attendees, and says there has even been talk about organizing a possible Server Mania! Tournament at next year's conference and tradeshow.
