Swiss Web Host Selects IG2000

August 29, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Network behavior analysis systems provider IntruGuard Devices (intruguard.com) announced on Tuesday it has implemented its denial of service attack mitigation appliance at Switzerland-based Web hosting provider METANET AG (metanet.ch).

The new infrastructure protects its international links from denial of service attacks. METANET AG operates 500 servers in two data centers in Zurich, serving 10,000 customers and over 25,000 domains.

The company's international links were badly abused and were affected by many denial of service attacks and distributed denial of service attacks before IntruGuard deployed IG2000. Once it was installed, attack traffic was instantly filtered allowing legitimate traffic to go through.

"IG200/2000, with their fine granularity of counters used for traffic parameter monitoring build complex and detailed legitimate traffic model for a Web hosting infrastructure," says Hemant Jain, co-founder and CTO of IntruGuard. "This helps in mitigation of complex DDoS and Botnet attacks that attempt to mimic legitimate traffic. The Web hosting industry is overwhelmed with growing number of DDoS and Botnet attacks."
