SoftLayer Offers Web Analytics
October 1, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider SoftLayer (softlayer.com) announced on Monday that it has partnered with Google business solutions provider Actual Metrics (actualmetrics.com) to provide Urchin by Google Analytics for $5 per month per server.
SoftLayer says the enterprise-grade website analysis software provides Web masters with statistics that detail server and website usage including how visitors reach a site, where they go and what they do within the site, from which page they leave the site and when they return. The software can also use the information it collects to measure the short and long-term effectiveness of a website's online marketing campaign, content and e-commerce initiatives.
"Site administrators gain invaluable insight from observing and tracking how users are engaging with their site," says Matt Chilek, VP of development at SoftLayer. "Urchin provides that level of transparency. We're glad to have it as part of our arsenal for providing SoftLayer customers a level of service and convenience they won't find anywhere else."
Earlier this month, SoftLayer began offering RescueLayer, an innovative automated system for restoring and repairing servers after crashes or failures.
