SoftLayer Announces Appointments
January 16, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider SoftLayer (softlayer.com) announced on Monday it has named three new employees for key management roles.
George Karidis will serve as the company's new chief strategy officer, DJ Harris is its new director of business systems and Chris Menard has been named the new director of operations.
Karidis joins SoftLayer from Devonshire Investors, a private equity division of Fidelity Investments. Harris previously served as an IT analyst and software engineer for Tyco. Menard worked for Yum before joining SoftLayer’s management team.
"SoftLayer is defining the cutting edge of hosting. My standing goal is to have the best minds that will help us continue to drive emerging technologies," says SoftLayer CEO Lance Crosby. "Team chemistry, knowledge, experience and work ethic are the cornerstones to our success. George, DJ and Chris build on that foundation."
Softlayer announced last week it deployed 40GB connectivity to each server rack to ensure maximum network performance in its newly launched data center in Seattle, Washington.
