Planet Names Chief Accounting Officer

April 10, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Dedicated hosting provider The Planet (theplanet.com) announced on Tuesday it has named Johnny K. Vincent in the newly created role of chief accounting officer. He reports to chief financial officer Kevin Klausmeyer.

In this newly created management role, Vincent is responsible for traditional accounting functions, internal and external financial reporting and financial planning and analysis.

"Johnny Vincent brings to The Planet diverse financial and business experience across a number of industries, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and the IPO process," says Klausmeyer. "In addition, his technology industry experience with Dell, Inc. will enable our company to strengthen its processes, drive more value and operate more efficiently."

Vincent joins The Planet from Hercules Offshore, where he served as vice president and corporate controller. There, he was responsible for accounting controls, SEC reporting, compliance and information technology. Vincent also spent seven years with Dell in a series of increasingly responsible financial roles including controller for Dell's state and local government business, senior manager for corporate internal audit and senior consultant for the company's US consumer group.

The Planet recently announced it has formed a strategic partnership with shared and reseller hosting provider Site5, where The Planet will serve as the exclusive infrastructure provider for Site5 as it consolidates its hosting platform.
