Network Providers Hold Peering Forum

March 26, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Network exchange point providers Terremark Worldwide (terremark.com), Equinix (equinix.com), Switch and Data (switchanddata.com), AMS-IX (ams-ix.net) and DE-CIX (decix.de) announced on Monday they are holding the second main event in their bi-annual Global Peering Forum series, to be held March 25 to 30 in Miami, Florida.

The Annual Global Peering Forums are designed to join together peering coordinators from North America, South America, Europe and Asia in a neutral environment to discuss the interconnection of their autonomous networks. The event features in-depth presentations from industry experts on peering rollouts, policies, trends and general technical topics of interest to the peering coordinator community.

More than 160 peering experts are expected to attend the forum, including Terremark Worldwide director of peering Josh Snowhorn, Equnix director of peer services Eric Troyer, CIO for Switch and Data Ali Marashi, AMS-IX CTO Henk Steenman and DE-CIX CEO Harald Summa.

The forum will enable delegates to discuss different peering policies and peering economic models as well as to meet the faces behind the corporate names. Participants at the March forum include peering coordinators from Sprint, AT&T, China Telecom, Brasil Telecom, France Telecom, Yahoo!, Google, Limelight Networks, Microsoft, Telecom Italia, British Telecom, Deutsche Telekom and Akamai.
