iPhone Keynote, Precedes Apple WWDC Snap.com Search Engine Technologist

San Francisco, California – (The Hosting News) – July 9, 2009 – Search engine, Snap.com technologist, presented at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2007, on deploying cross platform applications, using AJAX. Perfect Market Technologies, Inc.’s Snap.com Chief Technology Officer, Michael Agostino, appeared along with product evangelist Jason Fields.

The topic of deploying cross platform applications for AJAX is of particular interest to Apple developers, following the news delivered during Steve Jobs’ keynote that Apple’s iPhone will be open for AJAX applications running in the Safari browser. The Snap team will specifically address how they developed and deployed Snap.com, a visual search engine making heavy use of AJAX and other Web 2.0 technologies, and optimized for Safari.

The rapid growth and popularity of Snap.com led to the creation of Snap Shots, a distributed content engine now featured on over 1 million websites and blogs. Approximately 150 times every second, Snap Shots delivers enhanced content to websites in the form of photo albums, stock quotes, streaming audio and video, product information and more, directly to users as they browse an enabled web page – all in a format that is useful and engaging to users.

According to the company, Snap Shots, which also make heavy use of cross platform AJAX, are a radical departure from the traditional Internet model of forcing users to browse web site after web site, manually trying to find what they’e looking for. Users trigger Snap Shots whenever they mouse over a link in an enhanced web site. Upon triggering, a small window appears providing the user with additional content relevant to the subject of the link or the enabled text. Snap Shots are interactive and put users in control of their surfing, making for a much richer user experience.
