Infinitely Virtual Releases Ubuntu 9.10

(The Hosting News) – Infinitely Virtual has now released Ubuntu 9.10 preloaded on all Virtual Dedicated Server products–an upgrade from Infinitely Virtual’s previous use of Ubuntu 8.10. The Ubuntu operating system is free and contains all of the applications one may need– web browser, office suite, media apps, instant messaging and more, and is an open-source alternative to Windows and Microsoft Office. Some of the new Ubuntu 9.10 features include: a faster, more streamlined interface; tools which ease the creation and deployment of apps for Ubuntu; full commercial support from Canonical; and the introduction of the personal cloud in which users can store and share files and contacts easily with Ubuntu One.

Ubuntu 9.10 also offers its Server Edition, which provides the performance and security of Linux for the enterprise servers. Ubuntu Server Edition easily integrates with a user’s existing networks while providing a low total cost of ownership. The Server Edition goes further to offer multiple life cycle scenarios for users to choose from, and is supported by free life maintenance.

The addition of Ubuntu 9.10 preloaded on all Virtual Dedicated Server products takes Infinitely Virtual farther in its mission of delivering reliable and energy efficient virtual technology services to clients at the industry’s lowest prices.
