HostingCon Blog: Today’s conference luncheon
Networking is one of the biggest reasons that people attend conventions, and this year, HostingCon put a good idea to use. At the conference lunch, they picked 4 topics, and put signs on the tables with one of those four topics.
The idea behind this is that you could pick a topic, sit at that table, and then have a discussion on it. Somehow, one of the tables changed their signs to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) but I’d imagine that has a story of its own
It was a great chance to meet people, and most of us would agree that we ended up learning about 5 or 6 other businesses and what’s unique about them. Everyone here has something to bring to the table besides food, and it’s interesting to hear it what everyone has to say. You can learn a lot about people from their forum posts, but meeting them in person really gives you a chance to learn about them on a personal level – do they act like they talk online? How friendly are they? Are they someone I would want to work with?
Overall, the food and discussion was great and this was definitely an event everyone enjoyed!
