HostingCon Blog: Networking is fun

We’re three days in to the convention and I just attended my first session. I went the entire Monday and Tuesday without sitting in on any sessions, but to be honest, I don’t feel bad about that because the networking on the booth floor has been incredibly enjoyable. The session we went to this morning was by iNet’s very own Troy Augustine, discussing the results of the survey that was conducted on WHT in June. There were some surprising results, for sure. I’m eager to see the full report, which should be available next week.

For most of the convention, Paul and I have been at the WHT booth talking with some new and very interesting people. Despite being there in our WHT role, we managed to secure some new development customers and pull in some very good leads for our own business.

With just one more day of the conference to go, I guess it’s time to start bringing everything together. Personally, I’ve had a fantastic time. There are certainly a few people who miss Vegas, but Navy Pier has been an awesome location. Despite not having had much chance to see Chicago, from what I have seen it appears to be a very nice city. The two conference hotels are nothing short of perfect, and with all the sponsored parties, it seems there has been plenty to do on an evening (Not that I would know. After our ‘interesting’ antics on Sunday night, I’ve been half-dead for the rest of the convention!)

Paul and I leave for Cedar Point in a few hours, but not before we’ve done another small stint at the WHT booth.

Oh, if anybody was at the RatePoint/TheWHIR party last night and they know who the guy dressed as the world’s geekiest geek was, please let me know. Apparently RatePoint didn’t know who he was, and if he had some product to share and his clothes and appearance were all part of a marketing stunt, we certainly couldn’t tell!
