Hosted Virtualization Services Portal, Debuts at NTT Europe Online
London, United Kingdom – (The Hosting News) – November 12, 2008 – Wholly-owned subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, NTT Europe Online’s virtualization portal is designed to provide managed hosting customers and partners, with control of virtualized server environments.
NTT Europe Online’s new portal offers levels of control and flexibility to companies deploying virtualized services in any of its European data center, that were previously unavailable. NTT Europe Online’s Customer Portal gives IT Managers around the clock, on-demand access to VMware’s powerful VirtualCenter control node – enabling users to configure provision and manage their virtualized IT environments online.
Available 24×7, the secure web portal simplifies the management process by allowing users to activate, deactivate and reboot their hosted virtual servers in a matter of seconds from their desktop. It also enables the seamless drag-and-drop migration of server resource across virtual machines without engaging SLA support services from the dedicated NTT Europe Online team.
In addition to helping organisations optimise their hosted IT infrastructure, the Customer Portal provides IT users with full-featured reporting capabilities, which can be tailored to cater for both management and technical reporting requirements. A unique ‘Snap Shot’ report function gives IT Managers an instant view or model of capacity usage and performance, which can then be separately re-configured and tested before deployment. It even includes and undo-function, meaning if the new ‘Snap Shot’ configuration isn’t optimised, users can simply revert back to the original model at the click of a mouse.
Peter Barker, Head of Development at UK digital agency Rufus Leonard, and one of the first to use NTT Europe Online’s Customer Portal noted, ”The Customer Portal means that we now have a transparent overview and complete control of our virtual servers – something we would look to our host specialists NTT Europe Online to supply. A core part of what we offer is the speed at which we can deliver our digital services. The online portal means we can launch new or reconfigure existing virtual servers for our clients much quicker than before.
