Colocation Web Host, Hosting.com, Awarded SAS 70 Type II Certification
Louisville, Kentucky – (The Hosting News) – January 9, 2007 – Managed hosting and colocation company, Hosting.com, has attained SAS 70 Type II certification for its Irvine, California and Louisville, Kentucky locations.
Its newest datacenter located in San Francisco, California also became certified, making all three of Hosting.com’s primary datacenters SAS 70 Type II compliant.
The SAS 70 audit, or Statement on Auditing Standards (”SAS”) No. 70, was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as a means of measuring and reporting the effectiveness of operations and controls of a service provider. Hosting.com’s SAS 70 audit was conducted by independent auditor Chilton and Medley.
The SAS 70 auditing format enables Hosting.com to communicate details on internal operations and security precautions to customers in an industry accepted format, complete with Chilton and Medley’s thorough testing and assessment of each of the controls. By carrying the SAS 70 Type II certification, customers have assurance that each of Hosting.com’s primary datacenters consistently demonstrates the same high standard of operation, security, and ethics.
