Attenda Hosts Christian Aid Site
September 10, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Managed services provider Attenda (attenda.net) announced on Monday that it has signed a five-year contract with UK-based international development charity Christian Aid (christianaid.org.uk) to host and manage its new corporate Web site.
Christian Aid says it is migrating its Web site presence from a Linux and Apache-based platform to a Windows environment comprising of clustered SQL Server 2005 Servers and Microsoft's .NET framework.
The charity runs four Web sites and smaller micro sites hosted on the existing Web site server. The organization says its new corporate Web site has been built on the new infrastructure and the three remaining Web sites surefish.co.uk, pressureworks.org and globalgang.org are in the process of being migrated across to the new platform.
"It was important for Christian Aid to select a partner who truly understood our requirements and could deliver high levels of security and availability for our new site," says Phill Humphries, infrastructure and operations manager for Christian Aid. "We also required a partner aligned with the nature of our work, providing flexible scalability in the event of a natural or human disaster when traffic to the site is likely to increase considerably. We awarded the contract to Attenda as they ticked all our boxes and demonstrated best value for the service."
Attenda recently partnered with BSI Group to deliver a managed service to support BSI's new e-commerce solution.
