AISO Selected to Host Live Earth

July 6, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Affordable Internet Services Online (aiso.net) announced on Thursday that it has been selected to host the Web site for the upcoming Live Earth concerts (liveearth.org).

Concert organizers say they chose AISO.Net because the solar-powered Web hosting provider's philosophy fit the theme of the concerts to raise awareness of the issue of global climate change. AISO.Net will operate two Live Earth sites, one for the concert and the other to track pledges.

The concerts will be held around-the-clock July 7 in Shanghai, Tokyo, London, New York and other major cities. Organizers of the Live Earth event say the concert venues will be carbon neutral with electricity to power musicians' amplifiers and microphones coming from renewable energy sources. Live Earth organizers also add that they are not seeking financial donations with the event but are asking people to pledge to adopt a carbon-neutral lifestyle.

AISO.Net has also recently completed a data center consolidation initiative using IBM technology resulting in a 60 percent reduction in overall power and cooling costs associated with the company's IT operations.
