(Gawkwire) – VISI Inc. announced today they have signed a three-year contract to provide ReliaCloud™ services (a virtualized, outsourced production server environment) for Rockler Companies, Inc.
“It was time to move away from a single resource service to a cloud-based service,” says Jim Yothers, IT systems manager for Rockler. “We’ve been with VISI for about seven years. Moving to their ReliaCloud service now allows us to switch from our aging hardware to state-of-the-art equipment. It also means we’ll gain more efficiencies and be better positioned for future growth.”
Rockler Companies, based in Medina, Minn., supplies specialty hardware, tools, and other woodworking products. The company also publishes a Woodworkers Journal magazine that provides plans, techniques, product reviews, and tips for woodworkers.
In choosing VISI’s ReliaCloud service, Rockler is able to transfer its IT infrastructure to an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) model and focus their attention on managing their enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. This will allow Rockler to move away from the day-to-day worry of their IT infrastructure and focus on their business’s IT needs.
VISI offers a comprehensive suite of products and services, including: colocation, managed services, hosted services, and cloud computing infrastructure to businesses ranging in size from small to enterprise throughout the Midwest. The company also sells, installs, and manages IT infrastructure solutions from world-class hardware and software vendors such as Cisco, EMC, Hewlett Packard, VMware, Microsoft, and Citrix.
“We are thrilled Rockler has chosen to switch their IT infrastructure to our new ReliaCloud service,” says Terry Swanson, CEO of VISI. “We look forward to continuing to deliver the highest level of service and the technology infrastructure that Rockler expects from us.”
