(The Hosting News) – With the new 6.15 version of ePages online shop software, merchants achieve a strongly improved performance on smartphones and tablets, in addition to the classic desktop. “As soon as online merchants will receive the free update to version 6.15, they will be working with one of the most innovative systems for mobile commerce. Thus they will be best equipped for the expected growth in mobile sales,” says Wilfried Beeck, CEO of ePages.

In more than 80,000 ePages online shops, page views from mobile devices grew massively. Their share of all page views has reached around 10% (first quarter 2013), in the same period last year it was 4%. For retailers, this increase is worth real money, even if orders do not come in immediately: More and more consumers are first browsing via mobile devices and later buying in local stores or traditional online shops.

ePages makes merchants fit for Mobile and Social Commerce

In the evenings and during weekends, consumers prefer tablets for shopping – Couch Commerce is all the rage. Smartphones are preferred on the way to work, during breaks or while shopping in town. The new user behaviour will lead to a future swell up in mobile commerce: With mobile revenues reaching almost 2.5 billion pounds by 2014, Great Britain will continue to lead the pack in Europe before Germany and France, say Forrester Research.*

On smartphones and tablets, ePages online shops appear in a specially adapted version. Customers can browse through a selection of top picks on the home page – with intuitive touch control. The product detail page has been completely revamped: Products appear more clearly, so that the entire buying process is effortless. To easily find a local store, its location can be displayed by clicking on a map function. The social commerce features have been optimized: The icons to share via email, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ have all subsequently been revamped.

Other new features: Filter search, content slider, customisable forms

+ Professional search with filters: ePages has stepped up to the mark, improving the professional search functionality further – now with the ability to fine tune search results using filters. Customers can set a price range or just view certain manufacturers’ products or specific colours. The results are adjusted in a split second.

+ Content slider: Large animations with transitions that can be freely selected lead customers in to a more emotional shopping environment. Or merchants can use this feature to show special promotions in a compelling way.

+ Customisable buttons: The buttons in ePages online shops can be customised in terms of fonts, background and contour. The important “Add to Cart” button can be adjusted separately.

+ Customisable forms: Merchants can now create their own forms. For this purpose, they simply add fields by drag-and-drop and specify what information they want to obtain.

Resellers of ePages online shop software are hosting providers, telecommunications and logistics companies. Online merchants will receive free automatic updates as soon as the new version is rolled-out to their provider. By the end of May 2013 about 50% of all users will have got the update.
