(The Hosting News) – Tech giant Adobe, popular for its creative suite of products, has moved to make its offerings subscription-based.

According to a BBC report on Tuesday, popular programs in the mix include Photoshop and Dreamweaver.

Before the move, program owners could install the platforms for a one-time fee. Now, it appears they’ll have to go month-to-month if they want the services to receive the latest updates.

Monthly costs could be in the range of $10 to $75, a report from CBS News signaled.

The latest development represents Adobe’s march to cloud reliance, something that also means the company is doing away with in-store boxed products.

Development for Adobe Creative in its current will not surpass version 6.0. “We wanted to align the company with the future of the creative process,” stated Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen in a report from the Wall Street Journal.
