When you’re planning a trip to Southern California for several summer days of intensive learning, networking, and conference-going, you might take advantage of the opportunity to squeeze in a little recreation and relaxation. Luckily for those attending HostingCon Global 2015 , the San Diego area is blessed with numerous clubs and facilities for golfing, tennis, or whatever suits your fancy.

This Golf Digest article is a great place to start, and makes special mention of the Coronado Golf Course, as well as Torrey Pines, where the 2008 U.S. Open was held (and Tiger Woods won his last major). Torrey Pines is notoriously difficult to book, but this site claims to be able to help with 90 days notice – which is just a month away.

Other sites offer access to different courses, and with so many to choose from even last-minute bookings are possible.

There are almost as many options for other athletics like tennis, including Balboa Tennis Club, which has earned a reputation for pleasant and well kept facilities, with courts usually available, and is a ten minute drive from HostingCon convention facilities and official hotel.

The Marriot Marquis San Diego Marina, official hotel of HostingCon 2015, offers complimentary fitness classes, as well as two swimming pools, and a range of outdoor activities including jet skiing and kayaking.

Naturally San Diego is a great place for surfing, with lessons available for beginners and famous beaches for experienced wave riders. San Diego Bay has so much to do it needs its own post.

Other recreational options, both indoor and outdoor, will be explored here as we approach HostingCon, and San Diego has a lot to cover. By the time we are finished going through the options, the remaining promotional opportunities will be gone and early bird registration will be over.
