Sessions in the Issues & Trends track explore the sector’s disruptive events and ideas. Last year’s dynamic Issues & Trends presenters included GigaOm research director Ashar Baig on the future of cloud services for MSPs. Structure Research managing director Philbert Shih spoke about the possible end of an era in hosting.
The Sales & Marketing track was capped off last year by Makiko Ara of Total Product Marketing, who gave an in-depth examination of common marketing pains for cloud and hosting providers, and gave some practical strategies and tips.
Last year’s Management track was packed with informative sessions, including Kellie Green of Parallels with SMB customer experience insights and Jad Jebara of Tuangru on having an exit strategy in an environment of consolidation.
While HostingCon global has traditionally included a lot of discussion about how to deal with the elephant in the room, AWS, but at HostingCon Global 2014 in the technology track Antonio Piraino of ScienceLogic talked about the opportunity for hosts to build services onto AWS.
