Well, Just a warning here.

Those who are new domainers. Please take note.

AllForDomains.com, EveryDayIncome.com, domains.profit.com, FastDomainSales.com

are SCAMS.

You are do a google search, allfordomains, you will find a few site telling how the scam works.

At NamePros.com and DomainState.com forums, there are discussion of those who have been scammed by AllForDomains.

I search WHT, not much result from AllForDomains. So I post this warning for all the new domainers.

I will briefly describe how the scam works.

- AllForDomains from source found that you are selling a particular domain, email you to try their one-time trial free email advertising for your domain sale.

- If you go to their site to send your domain ad, within few days, you will receive an offer who is interested in your whatever domain. But you have to get it appraised by a professional appraiser before he buys from you.

- He will provide a few domain appraiser such as GreatDomains.com, DomainMart.com, Hollywooddomains.com and FastDomainSales.com.

- Among those domain appraisers, FastDomainSales.com has the cheapest appraisal price, so naively the newbie domainer will go for FastDomainSales.com (owned by AllForDomains.com, check the whois, you will realise they both have the same contact info) because it is the cheapest.

- After you get your domain appraised and reply to the "propective offerer", you will never hear from him again.

In this way, AllForDomains has earn those newbie domainers. Those people are from russia if you get the message source. The offerer is actually themselves.

I know there are lots of domainers already being scam by AllForDomains. And i know there should be some from this board. Maybe those who got scammed can reply here to verified.

But their idea is really brilliant because there are still always alot of newbie fallen into their trap.

I wonder it there any suggestion to blacklist and report these sort of scam to prevent more people getting into their trap.

Any domain site reviews out there should have article to warn those using AllForDomains services.

Man thanks so much for posting this thread. I did a search on google for "Domain Appraisal Scam" to find this site because I was concerned that exactly what you mentioned was about to happen to me. I was selling my first domain by placing it on ebay. I have learned a lot since then. I am posting the emails I recieved from the guy in hopes that I may save someone else from running into the same problems. Its only a few bucks but thank god I didn't put it into this ******** pocket. It is funny what length people will go to for a few bucks. These pathetic people have no class or human value. I am glad there are people posting this sort of information around. I am going to do some digging to find out how to report these people to the proper authorities. It would be nice to develope a centralized fraud alert area for things like this. If anyone knows of such a thing please post it. That way when people go postal they could have a nice list of names to choose from. :) Anyway here are the emails so you know what to look out for.

Hi there,

I wrote you 24 hours ago but did not receive a reply. (this is BS the guy never wrote me) Perhaps, there were some
communication problems between our email servers.

Our company is a domain investor. After doing a keyword search we have found
your domain for sale.
I've decided to contact you direct via email. I've found your email address via
WHO IS.

Is this domain still available for sale? Even if it's not for sale please let me
know.

If it's still available for sale please email us your asking price.

If you have other good domains for sale feel free to email me the full list with
asking prices.

If I can afford your domain I will contact you. Please don't send us multiple
emails if you don't receive a reply from us and keep our email address
confidential. (<<--aha yeah sure)
Just email me your asking price. If I decide to buy I will contact you as soon
as possible.

20,000. Ok.

I need an appraisal for domains priced in your range.

Our partners (webmasters and domain owners) always recommend us to verify an
independent appraisal first. It would be fair for both of us.

Do you have an appraisal certificate for your name? Please note that I don't
trust free or unprofessional appraisals. It can be an appraisal certificate from
FastDomainSales(dot-com) or GreatDomains(dot-com)or HollywoodDomains(dot-com). It does
not matter because they were recommended to me by experienced experts.

After I receive your appraisal I'll make my offer.

How do you prefer to get paid: PayPal, check or wire?

Looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,

Yes your Right, You have done your homework well!,
and the sad thing about It, is they are still doing It, I have been getting these bogus emails from these scam artist now for almost 3 years, and just received one a few days ago doing the very same thing, those are all the sites they try to scam people with, But the real company Name is Eleview International Inc out of VA, and they are Registered with the BBB, I have made a few complaints to them about this, But so far No Reply?

I have received the exact (to the letter) scam letters.
The following websites were all reccomended by the scammer, so they might all be scam sites:

FastDomainSales.com
GreatDomains.com
HollywoodDomains.com

They are now using HotPop.com to cover their tracks better.

A good tip is if someone asks you to pay money in order to sell something (appraisal, deposit, show of good faith, etc), it is most often a scam.

FastDomainSales.com is bogus. The scammer includes 2 legitimate more expensive appraisal services to stear the victom to his own fake site.
The scammer in my case called himself Michael Spillman, the email body was the same as others mentioned here.
His email, spillman@toughguy.net, is a hotpop.com email address to cover his tracks. I tracked down the originating IP address of the email, here is the info from RIPE:

I too received the same email

The person is still in contact with me.

I haven't bought the appraisal yet.

I have traced his ip address : 213.140.249.206
His computer username is DIAMOND
His latest email address : jackmartin@toughguy.net
(A Free HOTPOP Email Account)

I hope the above information is of any use in tracing him out. Shouldn't one file a case against him?

Ive been jooped into it. Im a hardened web surfer as well... Can't believe ive done it though I am new to selling my domains.

I have contacted my credit card company regarding the matter as I only did it 35 minutes ago and also contacted emetrix about it who are the middle men for the money transaction.

Im absolutely gutted even tho its about £35. Imagine it had been more...

Shocking this kind of thing!

I don't think it's that simple. Do appraisers need licences to appraise? No. Must investers buy the domains they enquire? No. Now, considering how relatively unready the law is compared to cyberscams and cybercrimes, I don't think anything will come from filing a case ... unfortunately. :smash:

Well, I am not asking to file a case agains the "APPRAISAL SERVICES" but the person incharge on account of forgery and indulgence in fraud activities. Filing a case against him would not be a great deal from the residents of his native place Russia. I have already consulted my family lawyer in this regard and he told me that the emails with me and the data available on these forums is enough for filing a case against him. We have the IP address in the mail headers and in the WHOIS record as well. I have saved a copy of the WHOIS record on the server itself, in case, he changes the information in the record in the mean time.

They aren't in it for 'a couple of bucks'. These idiots think they can shut companies like Sedo down by getting a whole heap of people demand their appraisal fee returned. dnforum.co m/showthread.ph p?p=543298.

E-mails like this tend to come from 'toughguy.ne t' accounts.

Glad I did some checking

Tempted to send him to this thread with a suggestion of nominating my own appraisers

Heres my story so far, email as follows :

=============================

18,000 USD. Ok.

Do you offer a web site or domain name only? I'm mostly interested in names.

Do you have a valuation or appraisal? I need an appraisal certificate for domain priced in your range. I consider your name as an investment. In other words I'm going to sell your name later and make a profit. If I overpay I won't be able to make a profit in the future. It's very important for you and me to know the current market value of your domain.

Of course, we must be sure that you are engaging a reputable appraisal company. Please note that I don't trust free or cheap appraisals.

To avoid mistakes I asked domain experts about reputable appraisal companies in a forum

http://domaintalk.ourplace.com/Archive/36079.htm

Juck check this posting.

After I verify an appraisal from you we'll continue our negotiations.

How do you prefer to get paid: www.PayPal.com, www.escrow.com, check or wire?

Hope we can come to an agreement fast.

Looking forward to your reply.

Use some logic and you'll not fell for it too!

Appraisal is usually BUYING party's responsibility, NOT SELLING. That's it. They are ready to pay the money, so just tell them to appraise themselves. That's it.

Anyway, this scam is old as the world.
