I wanted to burn some CD's to play in my car but i can't remember what bit rate sounds like an original CD you buy from the store when i convert a MP3 to .WAV files to burn on a CD they come out to be 44,100 Hz 16 bit stereo it didn't matter how many kbps the MP3 was it always came out to 44,100 Hz 16 bit stereo so what rate do they need to be burned in to sound like CD's you buy from the store? I couldn't find any good web sites about this.

I know you can just burn MP3 to CD now without converting it to .WAV if you do it that way what kbps do they need to be in to sound like you bought it from the store.

I personally do not go for anything under 192kbps this is near CD quality especially done correctly.

Program used to rip wav: Audiograbber (using direct rip and encode) this means it comes straight from the cd and not to the hard drive then to mp3. This could cause quality loss. Also with HQ(high quality) on. Although on low-end system this could take awhile. I remember on my PII350 with 128Ram that i was only ripping at about 1x which was pretty shocking. at the moment i can rip at about 10x (with my plextor scsi) and 1Gig AMD TBird and 512 Ram.

Codec for encoding to mp3: Fraunhofer Codec. Optimised. This is by-far the best codec avaliable. However, do not use it with the Opticom Producer Pro and Audioactive (it comes pre-installed) but configurations in it mean it does not work as well..
However, those encoders have no selectable stereo modes (which can sometimes cause flanging)

And for those people "i cant hear the difference between 128 and 192", get a good sound system :)
192 is good for near-cd quality. However if its just for a rio or something i would go as low as 96kbps due to the fact of the limit space and generally, hand held players are not really that good on the ears.

For burning Mp3s to CD.
Do not use Easy CD Creater, it blows.
Use CDRWIN http://www.cdrwin.com
or Nero http://www.ahead.de
These programs convert the mp3s > CDA automatically. CDRWIN is by far the better program and is cheaper too.

In general converting a mp3>wav will make a loss in quality so by using a burning program that has it incorporated in it will cause less loss in quality.

Thats just my thoughts :)

CD Creator REALLY SUCKS, I cant use any of the cds I made in my cd player, and most of my cds are 192 bit.

roller, download winamp.. change the output type from Nullsoft waveOut Plugin to Null Soft Disk Writer plugin..

once your done with this.. all your mp3z in your playlist will be converted to .wav...

now, load up easy cd creator... and write a music CD.. and wola.. your done :) it works beautifully for me :)
