you can do it with your own domain too, i could do it, everyone could do it ...
they made the "in A" entry point on cnn.com

Spot on, its most likely an "A NAME" pointing to the IP address of CNN.COM...

UnitedColo is just has a DNS entry for "ucg.net", which is the dns name of their backbone routers, set as the address of "cnn.com" to throw off anyone who wants to try to break into or DOS their routers. A lot of companies do something similiar :)

1,2> I highly doubt UCG has anything to do with Time Warner/Ted Turner. There business tactics aren't those that they would show. They may have a Time Warner backbone. My uncle owns a ISP here, he has 1 time warner line coming in. And I'll I can say is time warner sucks, its cheap and it sucks. Not as bad as cogent though.
3> United Colo has so much down time it wouldn't be funny. CNN would be dead, more then they are now.
4> I would say you're crazy. I always see you putting down rackshack, dawgin on them. UCG has tons of problems, and they don't have good business tactics at all.
