From reading this msg board for 2 weeks now, I've finally narrowed my choices down.
Both hosts are respectable, and have an excellent package deal.
Does anyone have any statistics or speed tests they've ran for Wizardshosting.com or Site5.com?
Thanks.

Hi,
I doubt you will find a difference in speed of more than a few ms between the two, and you wont be unhappy with either of them as a host... Just pick whichever plan best suits your needs.

site5 is faster due to their location in nac.net.

or you can open two windows for browser...
one is site5 and the other is wizardhosting... closee your eyes.... and play ALT + TAB in serveral time... (do NOT count) and see what's comes up
hehehehe... just kidding :D :D :D
* this only work if you are using m$ windows 9x or higher ;)

I don't know all the details, but I do know that nac.net has many more lines going into that NOC than VDI. As for speed, if VDI is running smoothly, than there shouldn't be much difference.
If it will help you at all I just made my own decision between these very same providers and posted my thoughts here

I hope it helps you make yours.:)

Not sure if you made up your mind or not, but I'm a current Site5 customer and have no complaints.
Speed is beyond being decent, and I often think my pages run smoother than when I was with CommuniTech (they may have poor customer service, but they have the best quality servers in the industry due to their usage of Sun equipment).
I've seen nothing bad about WizardsHosting, so I'm sure you'd get the quality of service (customer service, speed, features etc.) you want if you were to go with them ... but I have no experience with them, therefore I'd have to be "quasibiased" and say Site5.
Site isn't 100% up yet, just have a coming soon page up with 1 graphic, but feel free to test the general speed: www.sourcerunner.com.

Feel free to load my site as a test for Site5:
SpaceAge Comics (http://www.spaceagecomics.com/press)
This page is pretty graphics-intensive (probably around 200K) -- so you might get a good idea from this how fast Site5's servers are.
I've been with these guys for about a week, and I can only say good things about them. Their service and support have been excellent, and I think I made a great decision.

Matt, very nice site! One of the better original comic strip sites around.
If you don't mind, when you get a chance, can you fire off an e-mail my way? jeff.rambo@sourcerunner.com ... would like to ask you a question.

Hi,
You won't go wrong using either of the hosts. Both are active members here, provide great service, and both use CPanel.
One difference:
Wizards uses VDI (for the time being) ;)
Site5 uses NAC.net
Good choice, either way. :)
