I have register mydomain.com a year ago. And I am using Cpanel. I am receiving a lot of junk mail in my catch all mail-box (default). I think these junk mails are suppose to be for a former owner of mydomain.com. I have tried difference way filtering these junk but in vein. If check the catch-all-mail-box after one month I received about 20 MB of his junks mail. Is there a way to reject his mail in anyway?

I have tried creating an email-box with this email and deleted the mails but it too time consuming.

Any suggesting?

Trace it back to the host and report it. Or let spamcop know.

There hundreds from different sources.

How can I trace it back to the host?

is it actually "mydomain.com"?

if so, that is why... i mean people could sign up for a porn site or whatever and use joeblowme@mydomain.com and you would get that...

what you need to do is :blackhole: all that email and then set up only the emails you need at mydomain.com

Thanks theqase.

Mydomain.com is just an example.
How do we "blackhoe: the email. Is it using the email filtering in Cpanel?

I am using email filtering and anti-spamming in the Cpanel.

ok what you need to do is go into cpanel and under your mail settings, click "Default Address"

once you get in there... click "Set Default Address"

then choose your main domain and then send all unrouted mail for 'yourdomain.com' to :blackhole: and that will trash any mail that doesnt have a specified address

from there you can set up forwarders or mail accounts to make sure you get mail for that address

Thank you, this definitely help.

well i can tell you are wanting to delete the mail and then tell them it doesnt exist...

if you put :fail: then it will tell them there is no such address and you will never get the mail anyways...(does both) or :blackhole: will just delete it and not tell them it doesnt exist

In that case, I will use the kill.

Thanks alots. This really helps me out. I was using filtering, but it keeps coming back.

Thank you.

Why not just set a filter to forward all spam from that domain back to the sender (hehehehe) after awhile they will stop sending it (hehehe)

simple.... you would just set up a mail forwarder to the email that it came from... simply take that email and make the email that they send it to a forwarder to their email....

YES,thats right :D :D

So whenever they send you an email,it gets bounced back to the same address (hehehehehe) and when they change addy's,just add that 1 to the filter !!!

Good luck :D (Damn spammers)

The Dude :D

I agree, that works well. Only problem is sometimes they will spam an address that you use day to day and obviously can't just forward it elsewhere.
