View Full Version : I'm so fricken awesome
Lirath 12-26-2002, 07:06 AM I don't know if anyone has noticed my absence from WHT, but it has not been voluntarily. My computer decided it was going to get a corrupt system file and not boot ever again. Well, with a normal hard drive, this would have been easy to fix. However, with my crappy on board raid drivers - it becomes more difficult. However, being that I must be God, or some form of a supreme diety - I have fixed it. And now I'm back online :P
Now I've got some reading of posts to do.. I got my fix... these withdrawls were getting bad
Chachi 12-26-2002, 07:22 AM ... welcome back :cartman:
You missed the return of Timmay, a 90 post flame thread about whether or not one particular designer was ripping PixelBrick sites or not and to top it off, Joe from eminded.org popped in :)
Lirath 12-26-2002, 07:48 AM I've actually never met or heard from this Timmay or Joe... Just hear that everyone hates Timmay.. :P
HostUDirect 12-26-2002, 09:19 AM I myself had the chance to post in a thread involving someone so popular on WHT :)
StarGate 12-26-2002, 09:34 AM Hey wb and you rule! ;)

JSpired 12-26-2002, 02:18 PM :) Welcome back!
Acroplex 12-26-2002, 02:25 PM If your HD is a WD beware :D
Acronym BOY 12-26-2002, 02:46 PM 3ware for IDE RAID. No on board or PCI Promise/Maxtor/Generic controllers will do.
Glad its fixed :)
Lirath 12-26-2002, 05:05 PM It's just incredibly hard to find the drivers. The raid actually works fine..
Btw it's an ASUS AV7133 with Promise FastTrak100 "Lite" and 2 Maxtor drives.
It works fine once you get the drivers. But neither ASUS nor Promise actually carries them. You need to find them from 3rd party sources. There are the windows 98 drivers on the ASUS motherboard cd, but that's it.
It's a major pain in the rear.
Acroplex 12-26-2002, 05:08 PM Oh God. I had the ASUS A7V with the Promise controller. Never again!

You forget to add modest to your list. :D
I spend a lot of time at hardforums.com. It's mostly from a hardware perspective, a good place to get help with that technical stuff.

Personally I enjoy using ASUS motherboards. I've used the A7V133 board many times and only had one defect. It happened to be in my own PC and it wasn't fun getting support. For that, ASUS has some changes they should make. I now happily use the ASUS A7V333 board. I've setup several more of these with no problems thus far.
Just my opinion regarding their products. :)
Lirath 12-27-2002, 05:42 AM I enjoy ASUS boards aswell... it was just rather difficult finding the drivers.
ASUS sent me to Promise because they made the raid... Promise sent me to ASUS because it was onboard raid. Neither of them had the XP drivers. - Finally found them on some foreign website that I didn't understand. But the file I downloaded worked :P
