Hi my WHT friends ,
I've just signed up for godaddys shared windows hosting plan to host my new ecommerce site.
It all went in vain when i see customers complaining about the time of email delivery after registering or making a purchase in my site. Then i checked them myself and shocked to know that the mail takes atleast 6 minutes to reach the recipient.

I called their support and they said as its shared hosting its usual for delay. But this is something my business cant bear.

Im thinking to try their virtual dedicated economy plan please suggest me if it also have the same email batch sending rate or is it faster ?

Also please suggest me some other windows hosting sites which can send emails sent from cron job at normal speed. (<=1 min)

As long as you run your own SMTP server on the VPS there should be no restrictions or delays.

If 6 minutes are too much for you then you should try to find another shared ASP.NET hosting provider with better email services. If you can not then get for VPS hosting, because VPS solution will be much expensive than the shared one.

Just go for another host...most hosting providers take about 30 seconds to 1 minute for the e-mail to reach it's destination.

@ Bkerry - Can you please name some of such asp.net hosting providers where i can send emails that fast? I would be thankful.
