Great answer though :idea: Joe cbaker17 04-30-2001, 12:18 AM I wouldnt say compaq makes GREAT boxes, in our 8 years experience, weve had enough problems with compaq servers as well as desktops to know their not GREAT but for their price their ALRIGHT. YOur best bet out of those 3 would be dell. I dont have any experience with starbox, but I believe I read a review on them and they were supposed to be pretty good servers. cimshimy 04-30-2001, 12:42 AM probably get a good deal hiring some neighborhood nerds to build 'em for you over the summer. hehe andrew Walter 04-30-2001, 02:51 AM I found www.racksaver.com interesting... ckizer 04-30-2001, 06:14 AM I beg to differ on the compaq servers, sure it's easy to get one of the bad ones, but they replace it for free, out of 20 we replaced 1 (bellsouth.net) a good 2/3 or enterprise servers are based on compaq because there servers are more reliable than most others, I even in most cases prefer them over IBM. |
