Some customers that I host on my RaQ3 want to add chat to their sites. Which program do you suggest to add, considering I only have 32 MB RAM?

Don't need an advanced chat, just the basic features. :o

Thank you for your help,
Daniel

Or, if you prefer to use more resource intensive solution, I suggest to check http://www.hotscripts.com as well as http://cgi.resourceindex.com - both have pretty extensive collection of chat scripts.

www.webmaster.com also offers a free IRC java chat that connects to irc.webmaster.com. They also host if on their server if you want to which shouldn't take any resources at all.

http://www.everysoft.com/everychat / - very light on system resources.

http://www.e-scripts.com/ - also light on system resources.

IMHO the best Java chat out there is DIGICHAT. But it is priced extremely high. I am sure others can recommend a much more suitable one for your needs and price range. As for the resources it depends on how it is designed and whether or not it is client based or server based applet.

HTML chat eats a lot more juice than a java chat. One the applet loads java chats are very system friendly - many just just client side and connect to an IRC server bypassing your own server totally.

http://www.webmaster.com (mentioned earlier)
http://www.jpilot.com (free / $49 registration)

are probably two of the better ones I've seen around.

I'm trying PHP WEB CHAT v 2.0 http://www.webscriptworld.com.

Are there any known bugs/security holes/memory banging on this program?

any body know any good java chats you cna install on the server, digichat is good but way to expensive I woudl be thinking somthinga bit cheaper.

I think java woudl be ebtter as html chat rooms clog up lots of resources and they are not even nice to use where java is nice and fast when chatting.
