We are currently thinking of offering support for our webhosts via ticket systems, like perlbill etc.
If anyone would like us to do this soon so we can see is its going to be viable please email info@ikiwi.net, our rates will be very low.
Have a good Christmas.

You're offering support  ?
Yourself? ??
now that's original :D, a host offering support for other host. People are so desperate this time of year.
Might as well say KFC offering to clean up Mc Donald's kitchen.

And why not if I may ask? We hosts need to pay the rent. I have to buy food. If my own customers do not generate enough support requests to keep me busy during the day then I'm not productive. If I have staff that only has work for 5 hours a day but sits behind their screens for 8 hours a day they're not productive.
Doing support for 5-10 other hosting companies as wel boosts your monthly income and is one hell of a lot better than spending your idle time on WHT.
Doing SALES for another company is totally different ofcourse.
As for McD and KFC: if they could cut cost by setting up a mutual cleaning arrangement I'm sure they would have done so long ago.

Actually, in NZ, KFC and Pizza Hut do things like that as they're owned by the same company. :)

I have been doing this for the past 2 months. No conflicts.
In fact my hosting business has improved more because now I have quit my day job and my response levels are a lot better.
Because I have a good revenue coming from support and sysadmin services, I can pay my bills and put my kids through school, and therefore I dont have to desperately sell 3$ plans or unlimited bandwidth.
Even bobcares has a hosting company if I am not much mistaken.
To make a living on web hosting alone will take a lot of gestation and/or luck in the beginning; I may not do tech support after 2 years if I can get to 500 clients.
It's a question of priorities I guess! :)
