Good Evening
I am a student of web design and I have come across an issue that I need some help with.
I have previously used Yahoo Business for my hosting, I now have moved to another host. Apparently when I changed the name server from yahoo to the new host I also in some way screwed up my mail. I have a premium mail account with yahoo.
After i changed the name server I am not able to get mail at either yahoo or at the new host.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Ron

Switching your DNS probably messed up the MX records. If you look for the MX records for yahoo premium you should be able to edit them in cPanel or whatever control panel your current host has.

The problem is I am not sure what the MX record should be. I did confirm that I am able to send email, just not receive it.
Is there a way to find out what the MX record should be or is this something I need to contact the host about?
Thanks again

You need the MX records for yahoo premium as I stated above.

forgive my ignorance here, but what I want to do is eliminate Yahoo from the equation, if I use the yahoo MX Record, won't I still have to pay yahoo for my premium account?
Let me reiterate what I am trying to accomplish. I have a yahoo premium account with my domain name in the address (ie. hoffy628@mybusiness.com) I want to keep the address but have my new host be the mail server and thereby eliminate Yahoo all together.
Does that make sense?

Oh I understand now. Since you are on Windows, I'm not sure how Windows works with MX records so I will leave this for someone with way more experience to help you out

You need to contact your host for support.
When you switch nameserver away from Yahoo, there should be MX record in dns zone pointing to the new host email.

Check your website on intodns.com and look and see what the MX record is. This might help you figure out if it is pointing to your server or Yahoo. Also make sure you re-created your mailbox on your new host.
Hope this helps :).

1. You're use SPF, Domain Keys, DKMI?
2. Do you use cPanel or other control panel?
Paste your last 30 line of mail error log.

The new MX entry that contains the name of the new mail server should be in the new name-server. You need to get in touch with the provider who hosts the new name-server. They should be able to guide you.
After making changes to any entry related to DNS, you might have to wait upto 48 hrs for the changes to be automatically passed on to DNS servers around the world.
