I think i have written it somewhere if not here

12th April i recv a spam from this site jumpguru.com.
I am dead sure that i have not subscribed to them. They have recd the mail address from one one of the admin/tech/billing contacts.

Same day i recv 6 other mails from them (all advt)

Then i write to them i have not subscribed blah blah and asked not to spam me. Same day evening i have an apology from that site that they made some mistake and the mail addresses were given by their marketing department etc etc.

i went and wrote to spamcop about this.

Now on 27th april
again they send me the advertising mailers. I am wild. i dont know what do i do. Imaging sending spam again after the apology. I have copies of all mails . All 3 mails are from same person , same mail address.

They are hosted with verio. I also mailed abuse@verio.com with all the mails i have recd. Still i dont think anything has been done as yet.

Does Anti spam really work . Is any action ever taken?
Dosent look like from my incident.

A good place to learrn how to handle SPAM: http://spam.abuse.net/

You've got a lot of homework to do on how to proitecty yourself from spammers and what to do when you do get it. You've already broken one of the cardinal rules, you almost never contact the spammer. It usually only confirms a working address.

Remember the 3 rules about spammersL
1. Spammers are liars
2. If there is any doubt, refer to rule number 1.
3. Spammers are morons (most of them).

There are many anti-spam sites and a few really good ones. It sounds like you need to familiarize yourself with what's on them for your protection.
