View Full Version : looking for mail server
webhostbeginner 10-05-2010, 11:37 AM Hello,
We have a vbulletin forum with about 200,000 users.
we want to send weekly newsletter to our users.
but we cannot send mail to this users count from our primary server because the server will crash or may be our IP blocked in some mail servers.
I want to know is there any server or service to send our emails ?
Regards,
xtrac568 10-07-2010, 11:41 AM there are many services for this.
if you want to outsource newsletters, see http://www.mailchimp.com/pricing/p1/
or you can use mail relay, see http://www.dyndns.com/services/mailhop/outbound.html
webhostbeginner 10-09-2010, 05:38 AM But mailchimp is very expensive !
I got some emails daily form forums or websites which I registered on that sites. all of that websites pay this cost to send free newsletters?

Jordan Jambazov 10-11-2010, 08:21 AM You can use the Google SMTP server. But maybe with 200 000 users you have to think about your own mail server. You can order a VPS with postfix installed on it.

not necessarily,
if you can tell me the price you consider affordable, i might be able to tell you more precisely where to look.
Have you taken a look at Zimbra Open Source? Great all around product, might be helpful!
Connor - VPS Royale 10-26-2010, 09:30 PM Sending that many emails is going to cost you a lot no matter what.
I'd probably recommend you get a dedicated server and set up your own mailing server. Go somewhere reputable for the server to
try using constantcontact.com
tier2 12-13-2010, 02:00 PM With the number of email addresses you have any 3rd party service is going to be expensive.
I would highly recommend doing it yourself, but you will need to be sure to configure everything properly.
I would recommend signing up for Feedback Loops for the various email providers as well. This can help significantly with email delivery. There are other websites you can go to that will help with your reputation management.
energizedit 12-13-2010, 04:06 PM That is a lot of emails to be sending but mailchimp and constant contact will handle this. They will cost for that many emails though.

mathew12 12-25-2010, 07:32 AM the mailchimp is the good email marketer and you should also check for the benchmarkemail.
both have the same portfolio
eSupun 12-25-2010, 08:08 AM Most of the newsletters I've seen are coming via aweber.com. Give them a try.
DxSEO 12-30-2010, 05:49 AM Although mailchimp is expensive but its a really good one so rather then going for price go for features
woods01 12-30-2010, 09:41 PM I'm curious to know the forum and the newsletter.
I belong to a number of forums and there aren't any that I allow 'newsletters' from.
If I want to see what's going on with the forum I go to the forum.
That might help people point you in the right direction if they knew what you were trying to do other then just get info sending 200k emails a week.
