I just found that my current host (neureal.com) set a tight memory limit (6 mega) for CGI programs, which caused one of my CGI programs unable to run anymore. This program typically requires between 10 to 20 mega memory, and it rarely is called (averagely less than once per day, and the running time is just a few seconds).

I am satisfied with Neureal so far for its service and cheap price. But because of the memory problem, I need to search for alternative hosts that can provide me with reasonable memory limit in addition to reliable and cheap service.

Appreciate your feedback!

Not sure about cheap but shared hosting usually means having to share resources with the hundreds of web sites on that same machine.

If your CGIs are resource hungry, you might want to look at the Virtual Dedicated Server packages which would be more costly but should fit your bill. They usually fit between 2 to 20 sites on one machine instead of the 100 to 500 sites per machine.

Actually, memory limits are set to 30MB. Please open a ticket and we'll fix this for you.

Thank you
