I am interested in that domain - but would like to trade, as I have several I'm not using. Not sure what you are hoping to make from your domain, but this is a general idea of how much I'd like to get:

LostDomain.com - $30 or best offer
LXhost.com - $20 or best offer
MyBestHost.com - $30 or best offer
WebHostAdmin.com - $70 or best offer
WikiHost.com - $20 or best offer

Or email me and make offer.

Thanks and Happy Holidays! :)

Sounds like as if one holds a private auction on eBay.

The name is very valuable. Aside from its practical use (anyone offering automated hosting solutions), it is ranked in the top three (actually, all three) for 'automated hosting' on Google.

I just checked it. It is real. The domain is in the second place.

AHI.NET is ours, too (the number one listing). Whomever purchases AutomatedHosting.com is pretty much guaranteed the number one [through three] spots. We could even put up a temporary page there to ensure those listings stick.

according to WordTracker the keyword 'Automated Hosting' is almost never used in a search, so it's no wonder that you're ranked number 1.

Did you do a search? There's 375,000 web sites related to Automated Hosting. AutomatedHosting.com is number one.

Obviously 'Automated Hosting' won't show up on some list of 'most searched terms.' It's only a segment of the entire Web hosting industry.

Very interesting.

However, that's just Overture. I wouldn't anticipate any activity there since we haven't listed the domain or term with them.

Google is where the domain has some popularity.

Golgotha

exactly, you're saying how you have the number 1 spot on Google, But it's for a term that nobody uses or cares about. What's your rank for the term 'Web Hosting' or 'hosting' or 'affordable hosting' or any useful search term?

according to my software, you are no where to be found, in any of the major SEs.

Golgotha

in addition, if you think this is such a great keyword, you only have a PR of 4 and 28 backward links...I could be number 1 for the search term 'Automated Hosting' in one month if I wanted it.

Google is by far the most popular search engine in the world. Since many other major engines are based off Google (Yahoo, etc), it's highly ranked among them as well.

Automated Hosting is not a service, it's a technology. That's what we have marketed it as. It would not be listed under "web hosting" or "affordable hosting" or anything like that.

That's nice, but it has nothing to do with the original purpose of this post. The search engine discussion could go on forever -- you've made your point.

Thank you for all of the responses.

Just a bit of info for anyone bidding on this. I am not sure what google reports for listings of automated hosting but Overture reports no searches last month which means it was less than 30.

There are several ways of evaluating a domain and personally I believe that Overture is a bit overrated, but zero results is not great either.

I don't think you people seem to understand what this guy is getting at (or the entire Web hosting industry for that matter). The fact is automation is going to play a huge role in the future of Web hosting. Look at Ensim and similar companies: their tag line is "hosting automation". That's a nice term, but I believe "automated hosting" has more potential as it is shorter and easier to remember. With a little branding and marketing, this term could be recognized throughout the entire industry.

I've been in the Web hosting industry for a long time and I've got to go along with DHostmaster on this one. Some of you need to post only if you have an actual argument (it seems some like to post useless -- and sometimes degrading -- remarks to increase their post count).

Right, that's because we have not paid to have it listed on Overture.

Search engine results depend on the web site, not the domain name. Whoever the new owner is will have the responsibility of managing those listings as they please.

Future of web hosting?

My point is, compare the results of two allegedly future technologies. One returns zero, the other returns over 1600 for November.

nothing wrong with selling and buying the domain name 'automatedhosting.com' if you think it will be a good investment for the future. I see no problem with that, just wanted people to know what they are getting.
