today i registered a domain name in stargateinc.com
I think I've chosen to register one year
However, finally the outcome
is the domain name is registered two year and i m charged
$15.90

Now, I fail to login the control panel
It seems that their database has not yet been updated
I've emailed them to see when will i be able to use the control panel
Now waiting for reply

Plenty of people have experience with them around here.

By default, they have you purchasing the domain for two years. You can change that.

Have you tried the Lost Password feature?

They are slow to update, but otherwise fine - and their CP is great. They are doing upgrades these days, but often have downtime - not unlike most other registrars.

One of the drawbacks cud be :

after the domain expiry they don't allow 45 days grace period..the moment its expires..its released.

I may be wrong abt that...anyone can clarify ??

Although not always the case (I still have 2 domains that expired in October on my list). But yes, normally these domains that don't get renewed are released the day after they expire. What's wrong with that?

If anything else, makes things easier for people that have a real interest in that name. NetSol takes months and years to release expired domains.

The default option for registrations is 2 years - you should have paid attention to the selections you made.

I have no problems getting on to the control panel as of now. Are you failing to have your username/password accepted?

In a sense it correct..but when i said drawback..it means...just in case the owner forgets to renew, and lets say...he wud use it constructively...he may lose the same

braincells, if I can do it with 600+ domains, someone with just 1 should be able to do it :D
