Hi, there:

i have a forum web site at the web hosting www.netfirms.com

But, recently the server is often shut down, no any notice. Also, the web site of www.netfirms.com is shut down. Therefore, i have lost the contaction with netfirms.com. i wonder whether this company will be bankrupt at the end of this year. If so, i need to remove my site to other place. Frankly, i am really frustrated by this web hosting. Is ther any one familair to netfirms.com
What they are doing recently!

If possible, could you please help me to test the site of www.netfirms.com or CalgaryOnLine.netfirms.com

i cannot visit them again. IS there any one knowing this company netfirms.com technical support telephone number?

Thanks in advance!

If I am not wrong, Netfirms.com is a free web site provider. In the past, we found some warez sites hosted on their network but they did subsequently remove them after we complained about it.

Even though, they offer free web hosting services, they still have bills to pay for their network, office and staffs salary. Probably, they either ran out of money from offering free hosting, their server or network crashed.

Since they are free, you might just want to give it a while to see if it comes back up or not.

In any case, here is their contact information :-

Netfirms, Inc.
5255 Yonge St., Suite 800
Toronto, Ontario M2N 6P4
Canada

Tel: 416-661-2100 Fax: 416-661-0700

Good Luck.

According to their whois information it is:

416-661-2100

Which jibes with what is on Google's cache of their site:

http://216.239.33.100/search?q=cache:cV2RYgJO2eIC:www.netfirms.com/companyContact+&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

But, truthfully, their DNS servers are not online and their webserver is not online, so you are most likely SOL. Hopefully, you have a backup of your site that you can load to a new host.

Wangzh,

Sorry about that. The last time I visited Netfirms, it reads 'Free Web Hosting'. Probably, they started offering paid hosting.

Check the next few days to see if the site comes back up, if not, be prepared to move to another web host which does not uses the paid hosting to finance the free hosting.

What hosts did you compare it with? What kind plan do you have, and for how much?

Okay, Netfirms are back up.

Here are their pricing comparison :-
http://www.netfirms.com/hostingChart

They cost between FREE to $15 a month and for some reason, I had the feeling that a majority of customers are Free. I could be entirely wrong there.

Can you back up your whole site?

If I were you, move out of them. Find another host.

By the way, what is the monthly bandwidth and space you need, PM me, may be I can offer you a better plan.

Regards.

Hongee.

If your paying for that kind of service perhaps you should stop paying, or switch to another provider.
