We are currently using R1soft but having trouble with our OVH server due OVH servers using custom kernels. This causes the server to stop backing up randomly without warning.

Do you have any recommendations for Linux (Centos 5.x) backup software?

What kind of content needs a backup? Is it a full system backup, or just some random files?

Why not recompile the kernel? It seems you do not have the devel version.

Have you contacted R1soft support regarding this? They typically provide fantastic support.

Ideally looking for some barebones restore which from what I have read this does not have?

We use R1soft, but I have heard some good things about Crash Plan.
